LRD-615 Topic 4 DQ 2: ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT AND CHANGE

Discuss two strategies that can be used for leading change. How do these strategies increase stakeholder support and create momentum for a change initiative to be successful? Why might you want to consider including the most vocal critic of the change initiative in your guiding team?

Strategies for Leading Change

Change is a complex process with a high possibility of failure if it is poorly executed. According to the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), change initiatives have about 50 to 70 percent failure rate due to a lack of plan and strategy. Change agents and guiding teams can employ some effective strategies to ensure the change initiative is successful. One of the strategies for leading change in an organization is effective communication of the need for change. Effective communication is critical as it informs acceptance and support for organizational change initiatives by employees and stakeholders impacted by the change (Shrivastava et al., 2022). The other strategy for leading change is providing adequate training and support for employees and stakeholders affected by the proposed change. Adequate training and support are crucial in bridging information and skills gaps and addressing stakeholder concerns. This ensures change initiatives are successful in an organization.
